On Saturday the 28th of April 2008 we entertained at St. Audrey's residential home in Hatfield to an audience of residents, staff and visitors. We even had time after getting ready for a quick photo call before the show began.

Here are 13 of our 15 strong group ready to start the show with a section we call 'Love Songs'. On the left of the picture is Judith, our compare and general organiser. On the right was Vic our pianist and in the front Catherine, who was all ready for a solo after our section to provide time for us to change.

Some of our 'Sailors' ready for the next section.
The Potters Bar Forty One Club wrote in 2007 saying " a big thank you to all the Breakaways team for providing such wonderful entertainment at the Christmas Party on the 3rd of December. Again this year we had about a 100 guests and we have had many messages of appreciation already with your entertainment the high spot of the evening, the success of the evening could not have been achieved without your efforts and support.
Hopefully we will be able to continue the tradition of the party again next year!"
While waiting to perform we took the following two photos.

In December 2008, 9, 10 & 11 we returned to the 41 Club for their Christmas party. For 2008, in addition to a Christmas section, we performed our 'Twenties' numbers as well as other items to give a one hour show.
Since this photo was taken we have been able to donate a further £3,500 to charities. This was made up as follows, £500 to Penniwells Riding Centre for the Disabled at Elstree, £500 to Parkinson's Disease Society Welwyn Hatfield Branch, £500 to Alzheimer's Society (Potters Bar Branch), £250 to the North London Hospice, £250 to ClickSargent and the remainder to Cuffley Youth & Communitty Centre. In 2011 we gave £500 each to Hertfordshire Action on Disability and Noah's Ark Childrens Hospice.
This year, 2011, a donation of £500 is being made in memory of Vic Lindsey to LUPUS UK.
Our thanks to all the groups who gave us donations after our shows to make this possible.
It is with deep regret that we must announce the death of our pianist Vic Lindsey on the 11th of October 2011.
Vic played for us for over 8 years, always cheerful, always supportive and always there when we needed him. We will miss him and so will many of the groups and homes we visited on a regular basis. Always a busy man, involved in the community wherever his talents were needed, now he rests. Thank you Vic.
